From festivals to YouTube
Following its festival run, “Schimmer” has been released on YouTube. The release on September 30, 2026 makes the approximately 20-minute production freely accessible to a wider audience.
The film was produced by Try Us Film in East Westphalia-Lippe. Jakob Gisik wrote and directed it, with Matthias Kampmann as producer.
One family. One decision.
In a world devastated by a deadly virus, a mother fights for the lives of her two daughters in a bunker. As hope fades and danger closes in, her long-lost brother returns, forcing her to make a fateful decision.
“Schimmer” explores self-sacrifice, hope and love in a post-apocalyptic reality. At its heart are family bonds and a mother’s unwavering determination to preserve a future for her children.
