The festival selection
“Schimmer” is part of the Official Selection of Venezia Shorts Italy 2026. The festival laurel records the film’s inclusion in the official selection.
This selection marks another festival milestone for our dystopian short. “Official Selection” denotes the film’s selection by the festival.
The film behind the laurel
“Schimmer” follows a mother surviving in a bunker with her two daughters after a devastating viral catastrophe. When her long-lost brother returns, she faces a decision that changes her family’s life.
Jakob Gisik wrote and directed the film. Matthias Kampmann is the producer, with production by Try Us Film.
